E. L. Casey opens his business.
They manufacture concrete masonry blocks by hand, deliver sand and stone for construction projects, as well as coal by the bag to locally residential consumers.
E. L. changes the name of the business to E. L. Casey Construction Ltd. to reflect the new product he introduces to his local market — Ready-Mix concrete.
The second generation joins the company!
E. L.'s son, Earl Casey, begins working in the family business full-time after graduating high school.
E. L. asks Earl (now the Vice President) to move to Truro to set up a second ready-mix concrete plant to meet growing customer demand.
Casey Construction continues to grow with Earl as the driving force. A third Ready Mix plant is opened in East Hants, quickly followed by a fourth in Trenton.
E. L. Casey passes away.
Earl takes over as president.
E. L. Casey Construction Ltd. becomes Casey Concrete Ltd. to reflect the true focus of the company.
Earl encourages his managers to research innovative ways to differentiate Casey’s concrete offerings.
The company begins to explore the possibility of incorporating non-traditional materials into traditional concrete blocks.
Casey Concrete is the first company in Eastern Canada to produce concrete blocks using waste glass from manufacturers.
Today, Casey Concrete has Ready-Mix concrete plants in Amherst, Antigonish, Bedford (Casey Metro Ltd.), Bouctouche, East Hants, Moncton, Trenton, and Truro. The company has one of the largest fleets of Ready-Mix concrete trucks and Ready-Mix concrete pumps in Atlantic Canada.
